EDITORIAL AUGUST 2007 - FEBRUARY 2008
So how' s your summer? Right now we have what I like to refer to as “video editing weather” here. There has been some nice days as well, but the last week has been excellent weather for getting some editing done. And I have! Playing around with a whole range of effects and tested different techniques. The result? That is an entire different story.... Everything takes much longer than anticipated, but it's more fun as well and I learn new ways to do things.
Trying (and failing), testing and exploring the limits for what you can accomplish, will take you further down the road and make you a better editor as well as a better director. After you have played with the result from your filming, you will soon discover what is good footage - and what can be improved!
I have also noticed that Adobe has launched “CS3 Master Collection” and “CS3 Production Premium”. By the look, they offer state of the art programs for editing - in every aspect. But the packages come with a hefty price tag, and I doubt that I will ever afford either of them. However, trial versions are available. It gives you 30 days to evaluate, and you will get some work done during those days.
Accordingly, I have put together a Murphy's Video Law. What can go wrong - will go wrong. Read and learn. If you have inputs or suggestions, please contact VE at dag@videoediting.no.
Some new links have been added as well And if you use the links provided, it's my opinion that you'll find everything that you need for the entire process. From planning and shooting to adding pictures and burning your DVD.
